Norman Mineta Confirms That Dick Cheney Ordered Stand Down on 9/11

I am reprinting the following feed from Jones Report (http://www.jonesreport.com/articles/260607_mineta.html)
because it is high time Cheney be exposed for the treasonous criminal he really is. I didn't copy in the videos - please go to Jones Report to view them.

Former Transportation Secretary Disputes 9/11 Commission Report Timetable for Dick Cheney and Reveals Lynn Cheney Was Also in PEOC Bunker Before Attack

Aaron Dykes / JonesReport June 26, 2007

Former Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta answered questions from members of 9/11 Truth Seattle.org about his testimony before the 9/11 Commission report.

Mineta says Vice President Cheney was "absolutely" already there when he arrived at approximately 9:25 a.m. in the PEOC (Presidential Emergency Operations Center) bunker on the morning of 9/11. Mineta seemed shocked to learn that the 9/11 Commission Report claimed Cheney had not arrived there until 9:58-- after the Pentagon had been hit, a report that Mineta definitively contradicted.

Norman Mineta revealed that Lynn Cheney was also in the PEOC bunker already at the time of his arrival, along with a number of other staff.

Mineta is on video testifying before the 9/11 Commission, though it was omitted in their final report. He told Lee Hamilton:

“During the time that the airplane was coming into the Pentagon, there was a young man who would come in and say to the Vice President…the plane is 50 miles out…the plane is 30 miles out….and when it got down to the plane is 10 miles out, the young man also said to the vice president “do the orders still stand?” And the Vice President turned and whipped his neck around and said “Of course the orders still stand, have you heard anything to the contrary!?
Mineta confirmed his statements with reporters, saying "When I overheard something about 'the orders still stand' and so, what I thought of was that they had already made the decision to shoot something down."

Norman Mineta made it clear to reporters-- who verified his quotes in written text alongside him-- that Mineta was indeed talking about a stand down order not to shoot down hijacked aircraft headed for the Pentagon.

After no shoot down took place, it became clear that Cheney intended to keep NORAD fighter jets from responding-- evidence that Cheney is guilty of treason, not negligence for allowing the Pentagon to be hit.

The idea that "the order still stands" matches up with a change in NORAD and Pentagon orders-- issued on June 1, 2001, only months before 9/11. The document revoked the default standing orders to shoot down errant or hijacked aircraft and instructed them instead to stand down until they were given orders by the President, Vice President or Secretary of Defense.
SEE ALSO: Did Dick Cheney Lie About His 9/11 Whereabouts?

Mineta was still in the PEOG bunker when the plane was reported down in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

"I remember later on when I heard about the Shanksville plane going down, the Vice President was right across from me, and I said, 'Do you think that we shot it down ourselves?' He said, 'I don't know.' He said, 'Let's find out.' So he had someone check with the Pentagon. That was about maybe, let's say 10:30 or so, and we never heard back from the DoD until probably about 12:30. And they said, 'No, we didn't do it.'"

Of course, Donald Rumsfeld has stated before that the plane over Shanksville was "shot down," though whether it was a mistatement or a freudian slip of the truth is arguable. It certainly would seem that the story presented in United 93-- a dramatized account of the official government story-- is much, much less plausible than the plane simply being shot down.
Norman Mineta's Testimony Before the 9/11 Commission-- which was NOT included in the final report and which DISPUTES the Commission's timetable for Vice President Dick Cheney on 9/11

Also, the two hour time delay is suspicious given the Vice President's own account of the dedicated video communications available that morning, as he told it to Tim Russert of Meet the Press on September 16, 2001.

"We had access, secured communications with Air Force One, with the secretary of Defense over in the Pentagon. We had also the secure videoconference that ties together the White House, CIA, State, Justice, Defense--a very useful and valuable facility. We have the counterterrorism task force up on that net. And so I was in a position to be able to see all the stuff coming in, receive reports and then make decisions in terms of acting with it."
At a bare minimum, this confirmation by Norman Mineta is in gross contradiction to the 9/11 Commission Report and poses serious questions about the Vice President's role in ordering NORAD to stand down on 9/11.

Why Conservatives Can't (and SHOULDN'T) Govern

Every once and awhile I find an article worth copying verbatim because it's so right on. This one is like a mini-history lesson for those who weren't alive in this century or those who have conveniently forgotten. Thank you, Robert L. Borosage, for writing the following:
"

Alberto Gonzales: Why Conservatives Can't Govern

Donald Rumsfeld has been axed. Tom DeLay cut and ran. "Scooter" Libby stands convicted. Michael "you're doing a heck of a job" Brown was tossed. Newt Gingrich disgraced himself. And now, the clueless attorney general, Alberto Gonzales, is surely the next to go.
Why this confederacy of dunces? The conservative National Review cover asks plaintively,
"Can't Anyone Here Play this Game?" Time Magazine puts conservative icon Ronald Reagan on its cover, a tear rolling down his face, reporting on "How the Right Went Wrong." But it's not incompetence or corruption-although both abound-that fostered the misrule of this conservative administration. And Reagan would feel not dismayed, but right at home with the follies and crimes. Remember, Reagan's attorney general, Edwin Meese, was disgraced. His national security advisor copped a plea. Oliver North stood convicted. His defense secretary, Caspar Weinberger, would have been indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice if George Bush the first hadn't issued a preemptive pardon.
What is it about conservative administrations that lead them into disgrace and indictment? Incompetence isn't at the core of these scandals--ideology is.
Conservative presidents--from Nixon to Reagan to Bush--believe in the imperial presidency. They assume that in the area of the national security, the president operates above the law, or as Nixon put it, "When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal." They operate routinely behind the shield of secrecy and executive privilege, with utter disdain for the law. So Reagan spurned the Congress when it cut off funds for his loony covert war on tiny Nicaragua. And Bush trampled the laws to set up the torture camps in Abu Ghraib, Guantánamo and elsewhere. Each would seek to keep their lawlessness secret; and that would foster lies, obstruction of justice and ultimately disgrace.
Second, conservatives are acutely aware that they represent a minority, not a majority, position in America. From Nixon to Lee Atwater to Karl Rove, they play politics and exploit America's divisions with back-alley brass knuckles--from Reagan's welfare queen to Bush's impugning the patriotism of Georgia Senator Max Cleland, a Vietnam War hero who literally sacrificed his limbs in the service of his country. They excel in the politics of personal destruction, as Democratic presidential candidates Michael Dukakis and John Kerry discovered. And in the grand tradition of the establishment in American politics, they are relentless is seeking to suppress the vote, particularly of the poor and minorities who would vote against them in large numbers.
Gonzales' imbroglio is a direct expression of this. At its core is the run-up to the 2006 elections with the Republicans under siege for the most corrupt Congress ever. The White House and Republican politicians grew exercised at Republican prosecutors who they considered too lax in exposing potential Democratic corruption, too avid in pursuing Republican crimes, or too slow in prosecuting reports of "voter fraud," the GOP code for using investigations to disrupt minority registration and get out the vote programs, and to intimidate wary black and Latino voters. Justice was ranking U.S. attorneys based on whether they were "
loyal Bushies."
The axing of David C. Iglesias, the U.S. attorney in New Mexico, is the archetype. With New Mexico up for grabs,
Iglesias was being pressured directly and shamelessly by Republican Sen. Pete Domenici and Mickey Barnett, the attorney representing the Bush campaign in New Mexico to hustle up indictments on alleged incidents of voter fraud. (Iglesias found no evidence of any program designed to influence an election.) Vulnerable Rep. Heather Wilson lobbied him to bring indictments against state Democratic officials before the election to help make the point that when it comes to corruption, everyone does it. When Iglesias refused to respond, he was targeted despite glowing performance reviews. The firings took place as an object lesson for U.S .attorneys headed into the donnybrook that will be the 2008 election. As Iglesias put it, "main Justice was up to its eyeballs in partisan political maneuvers."
Gonzales will surely be the next administration official to fall on his sword. Republican legislators are already questioning his ability to serve the president effectively. We'll see more stories about White House mismanagement and incompetence. But don't be misled. Bush and Rove know how to play this game. They play by their rules, the rules that conservative administrations have followed since Nixon. And that's the real lesson. The phrase "conservative misrule" is a redundancy. The two words mean exactly the same thing.

Such A Dirty Mouth, Mr. Pretendedent!

Bush gets real ugly with Laura.

Another today from The Wayne Madsen Report:( http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/index.php)

"March 13, 2007 --Our White House Press Corps sources report further disturbing news about President George W. Bush. Our sources have witnessed a clearly inebriated Bush approaching members of the press corps and making rude comments, including one particularly crude remark about First Lady Laura Bush. In that case, Bush, nodding toward Laura, called her a "c**t." While Bush's drinking is no secret to the White House press contingent, that particular comment was reportedly the worst they have heard uttered by Bush. Our sources also report that Laura Bush's stays at the White House are less frequent and that her overnight trips to the Mayflower Hotel often coincide with the president's drunken binges. "

"Note: Some of our female readers were shocked to see the "C" word in the above news item. This editor wants to make it clear that word was used by George W. Bush to denigrate his wife. It was his word, not mine. It is important that the public knows what kind of person Mr. Bush is by the offensive words he uses. The editor also wants to make clear that the President chose a public press gaggle to use this word -- that is not a private moment between him and his wife. If Mrs. Bush feels her privacy has been violated, she must understand that it is her responsibility to herself, her children, and the nation to end this abusive relationship by legally separating from the President and becoming a role model for other women around the country and the world who find themselves locked into similar abusive marriages. "

"Nevertheless, we have "asterisked" the word in question. However, Mr. Bush cannot asterisk his own vile words. "

I think maybe he should just go F*K himself.

Cheney to Sneak Off to Dubai

I just have to quote a few things today from the Wayne Madsen Report. (http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/index.php) This one first:

"March 13, 2007 -- The actual reason Halliburton and its chairman David Lesar are moving their corporate digs to Dubai is that the UAE's lax laws on corporate record keeping and the opaqueness of business transactions in the emirates will allow the firm to avoid responding to congressional subpoenas for its scandalous war profiteering in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations. A source with extensive ties in Dubai also reports that after leaving office, Dick Cheney will be spending "a lot of time in Dubai." WMR was told that Cheney will likely start looking for property in the emirate -- there are a number of highly-secured gated communities springing up in Dubai, which is fast becoming the "Hong Kong" of the Middle East.
Halliburton will also be able to avoid paying U.S. corporate taxes as a UAE-headquartered corporation."

Maybe he can hang out with another famous but fleeing about-to-be expat: Michael Jackson.

Patriotic Old Ladies, You're Going To Jail Now Too!

Our rights to peacefully assemble ARE GONE. Now the little old ladies who are against the war are being arrested, jailed, or put into forced labor. The American Holocaust has begun!

Grandmothers for Peace Get Federal Prison Instead
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/020107L.shtml
"This week a federal judge in Columbus, Georgia, sentenced Ms. Webster to two months in federal prison for stepping through a hole in the fence onto the grounds of Fort Benning to carry her protest to the doors of SOA-WHINSEC...The grandmothers and the rest of the 16 protestors will join more than 250 other activists who have spent a collective 92 years in prison and dozens of years on federal probation for prior nonviolent civil disobedience at the gates to Fort Benning and SOA-WHINSEC."

Texas Grandmother Sweeps Streets of Washington as Punishment for Protest
http://www.commondreams.org/headlines07/0131-07.htm
Diane Baker's voice was barely audible above the rumble of the trash can she pushed down the sidewalk. But her actions tended to speak louder, anyway. Baker was one of 71 people arrested during a protest in Washington for crossing a police line to sit on the steps of a Senate office building. Baker, who has a degenerative muscle condition, had to work 8 hours in freezing weather. As punishment, the 60-year-old was sentenced to sweep the streets of the nation's capital for eight cold, blustery hours Tuesday.

R.I.P. Molly Ivins: What Is Remembered Lives

For years, when the air was stagnant and choking with right-wing crock-o'-propaganda, we always knew we could count on Molly Ivins for a little bit of oxygen to help us through. Somehow, although dwarfed in syndication by the gasbags of the neocon world, Molly stood up for what was real and what was right and still managed to throw in a bit of humor. We sure will miss you, Molly, and pray that somewhere out there are journalists who will take the torch you bravely carried, and continue to educate and enlighten those whose eyes can see and ears can hear. Maybe that's all of us.

"We are the deciders," she wrote. "And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war." -- Molly Ivins

Yes, we DO have a better plan, and here it is:

The talking points for the right-wing always suggest the lack of a plan by anyone but the Pretendedent, especially the Democratic Party, on what to do about the terrible problems facing America (that HE has caused!) Nothing could be further from the truth, as Speaker Pelosi's recent visit with the leaders in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran have shown. Here's a great plan (courtesy of The Crisis Papers (http://www.americanpolitics.com):

A restoration of the international reputation of and respect for the United States must involve:
* Withdrawal, “with all deliberate speed,” from Iraq. Also all prisoners held at Guantanamo and other military prisons must either be brought to a speedy and fair trial, or released immediately with reparations.
* Immediate Congressional legislation restoring habeas corpus and the Constitutional rights violated by the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, accompanied by the rescinding of those acts.
* Rigorous and uncompromising Congressional investigations and disclosure of the crimes of the Bush administration, followed by remedial legislation.
* Following this, the impeachment of Bush, Cheney, and culpable subordinate executive officials, followed by trial and conviction in the Senate.
* Acknowledgment that international treaties are enforceable laws of the United States (as stipulated in Article Six of the Constitution). Most urgently, this would include the Geneva Conventions (concerning torture) and the Nuremberg Accords (regarding war crimes).
* And finally, there is the matter of election reform.
--> People, this is the one we ALL have to demand and enforce for the sake of our liberty! Don't let the vote fraud that brought these criminals to power in 2000 and 2004 carry on to 2008!

Sounds like a plan to me.

Col. "W" Sanders, Always the Dictator, uh, Decider

I can hardly take any more. Each day Bush and his administration does something worse than yesterday. Please, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, help us remove the Dictator of the US from office! Or at least - MEMBERS OF CONGRESS: PLEASE REMEDIATE OR REMOVE THE "EXECUTIVE ORDER" LEGISLATION (dating back to Civil War days, when the government was only in session a few months per year, the Executive Order was created to give the President ability to create a law IN THE ABSENCE of duly-elected Congressional representation.)

To wit (please see full article for details, I've snipped some here):

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/30/washington/30rules.html

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 — President Bush has signed a directive that gives the White House much greater control over the rules and policy statements that the government develops to protect public health, safety, the environment, civil rights and privacy.

In an executive order published last week in the Federal Register, Mr. Bush said that each agency must have a regulatory policy office run by a political appointee, to supervise the development of rules and documents providing guidance to regulated industries. The White House will thus have a gatekeeper in each agency to analyze the costs and the benefits of new rules and to make sure the agencies carry out the president’s priorities.

This strengthens the hand of the White House in shaping rules that have, in the past, often been generated by civil servants and scientific experts. It suggests that the administration still has ways to exert its power after the takeover of Congress by the Democrats.

The White House said the executive order was not meant to rein in any one agency. But business executives and consumer advocates said the administration was particularly concerned about rules and guidance issued by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

....snip....

Consumer, labor and environmental groups denounced the executive order, saying it gave too much control to the White House and would hinder agencies’ efforts to protect the public.
Typically, agencies issue regulations under authority granted to them in laws enacted by Congress. In many cases, the statute does not say precisely what agencies should do, giving them considerable latitude in interpreting the law and developing regulations.

The directive issued by Mr. Bush says that, in deciding whether to issue regulations, federal agencies must identify “the specific market failure” or problem that justifies government intervention.

Besides placing political appointees in charge of rule making, Mr. Bush said agencies must give the White House an opportunity to review “any significant guidance documents” before they are issued.

....snip....

Peter L. Strauss, a professor at Columbia Law School, said the executive order “achieves a major increase in White House control over domestic government.”
“Having lost control of Congress,” Mr. Strauss said, “the president is doing what he can to increase his control of the executive branch.”

Representative Henry A. Waxman, Democrat of California and chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said: “The executive order allows the political staff at the White House to dictate decisions on health and safety issues, even if the government’s own impartial experts disagree. This is a terrible way to govern, but great news for special interests.

Business groups hailed the initiative.

...snip...

Gary D. Bass, executive director of O.M.B. Watch, a liberal-leaning consumer group that monitors the Office of Management and Budget, criticized Mr. Bush’s order, saying, “It will result in more delay and more White House control over the day-to-day work of federal agencies.”

“By requiring agencies to show a ‘market failure,’ ” Dr. Bass said, “President Bush has created another hurdle for agencies to clear before they can issue rules protecting public health and safety.”

Wesley P. Warren, program director at the Natural Resources Defense Council, who worked at the White House for seven years under President Bill Clinton, said, “The executive order is a backdoor attempt to prevent E.P.A. from being able to enforce environmental safeguards that keep cancer-causing chemicals and other pollutants out of the air and water.”

...snip...

The White House told agencies that in writing guidance documents, they could not impose new legal obligations on anyone and could not use “mandatory language such as ‘shall,’ ‘must,’ ‘required’ or ‘requirement.’ ”

...snip to end...

NO Vote-o-matics - Keep The Pressure On Till 2008

Every time the Dems come out ahead it seems all the work toward fair voting systems falls by the wayside. So much to do, so little time, yeah I get it but you can believe the crooks in the GOP haven't forgotten. Keep the fire on!!! I want to cast my vote by putting an "X" on a paper ballot that is counted locally, and secure to its final tally, not on some poorly-rendered video game of an election!

I point you today to Cannonfire blog's map of the voting precincts in Ohio about where the vote was heavily favored to Kerry in 2004, there was an abnormally high percentage of spoiled ballots, where in those precincts favoring the Idiot, hardly any percentage of spoiled ballots.
http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/2007/01/2004-election-we-must-never-forget.html

And, according to researcher-extraordinaire Dave Emory, apparently the Sequoia voting machines can be tied to I.G. Farben, the company responsible for (among other hideous things) selling the gas for the gas chambers used by the Nazis:
http://ftrsummary.blogspot.com/2006/11/ftr-576-voteschwitzso-near-yet-so.html

"Supplementing previous programs about the perils of electronic voting, this broadcast highlights the new proprietors of the Sequoia electronic voting technology. Previously run by elements connected to organized crime and the GOP, sequoia was recently purchased by Smartmatic. Because Smartmatic is linked to the Venezuelan government of Hugo Chavez, Smartmatic’s purchase of Sequoia has raised alarms in Washington. The truth concerning Smartmatic is more sinister than its critics in D.C. suspect. Somewhat obscured by a tangled web of offshore companies, Smartmatic (and Sequoia’s voting machines) are actually owned by a group of entities affiliated with the member companies of I.G. Farben. The backbone of Nazi Germany and one of the most important companies in the history of commerce, I.G. Farben dominated the international chemical and pharmaceutical business. I.G.’s successor firms continue to dominate these fields. After tracing the ownership of Smartmatic to entities associated with the Sandoz pharmaceutical interests; the program sets forth the profound relationship between I.G. Farben and the machinery of Nazi government. After highlighting I.G. Farben’s role in the Bormann flight capital program that relocated the Third Reich’s wealth abroad, the program underscores the position of the successor firms to I.G. in the day-to-day functioning of the Underground Reich. It is that Underground Reich that now holds sway over the Sequoia voting technology used in the U.S."

Dog save us.

What About New Orleans?

There is seemingly no end to the evil of the Bush Administration. I'm ordering Greg Palast's video, "New Orleans: Big Easy, Big Empty", just based on his recent interview with BuzzFlash - http://www.gregpalast.com/new-orleans-still-under-water-a-buzzflash-interview/#more-1565 - and because Mr. Palast is a hero to me among journalists. A quote (emphasis mine):

"The White House knew [the levees broke] because the Army Corps of Engineers sent them photographs. Again, I want to emphasize that the White House had the photographs of the levees breaking, and didn’t tell state and local officials who had stopped the evacuation because the hurricane missed New Orleans. Everyone thought they dodged a bullet, but the White House didn’t tell anybody the levees broke and were drowning the city. — Greg Palast"

To any who thought that the idea of the Pretendedent strumming a guitar in San Diego while New Orleans went under was further examples of his criminal negligence, this story confirms that idea. And Palast confirms that it is even worse - that this racist, plutocratic administration was seeking to eliminate black people from New Orleans for the sake of divvy-ing up the spoils for its rich white cronies at pennies on the dollar.

"The 9th Ward looks worse than Berlin after the war because there’s hardly a building standing. And this was just filmed a couple months ago! This was filmed one year after the flood. In Indonesia, they have rebuilt after the tsunami. The only thing they are rebuilding here is a Disneyland on the Mississippi to recreate a new, white, conservative city.
And don’t forget, keeping African-Americans from coming back into New Orleans is amazing political gerrymandering. This is going to be crucial to keeping Louisiana in the Republican column in 2008. That’s really part of the story. - Greg Palast"

Does this not qualify as "High Crimes And Misdemeanors" - the basis of impeachment from office?

The Discordian and The Two Wiccans

by Unknown

Once there were 3 pagans who had gathered together to do invocations. The first two were Wiccan, while the third was a Discordian. They planned to take turns performing invocations, each according to their own traditions.

The first Wiccan did an invocation and began to tremble. Then he spoke in a strange voice, "I am the hunter and the hunted. I am light and darkness. I am birth and death." Then he collapsed to the floor. A few moments later, he regained consciousness. The first and second Wiccan were impressed that they had received Ancient Wisdom.

The second Wiccan did an invocation and began to tremble. Then he spoke in a strange voice, "I am the hunter and the hunted. I am light and darkness. I am birth and death." Then he collapsed to the floor. A few moments later, he regained consciousness. The first and second Wiccan were impressed that they had received Ancient Wisdom.

The Discordian said that she might try to invoke her deity if her deity felt like it. But she did not tremble. She did not speak in a strange voice. She did not even collapse. Instead, she just laughed and laughed in her own voice. The two Wiccans glared at her. "You lack the solemnity needed to do proper invocations," one of them told her. But Eris, who had filled the Discordian, just laughed and threw pop tarts at them and danced out of the room and giggled, "You can't tell a goddess how to behave."

At this, neither of the two Wiccans were enlightened. Possibly because neither one of them liked pop-tarts.
